Down at Rancho Park in Beverly Hills just past the Baseball fields and dog training and next to the Bocce courts you’ll find an Archery Range where you can learn how to shoot for free!
Every Saturday volunteers from The Southern California Archery Association hold a mandatory safety/ orientation course where they teach you how to shoot and how to keep yourself and others safe while doing it. After about an hour they clear out the range to
give the students a chance to hit the targets (or the wall, ground, etc.). Once you’ve taken the course you can come back when the range is open to practice what you’ve learned. If you get good enough you can even enter tournaments held at the Rancho Park Range and other Ranges in the area!
If you go, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to park as spaces are limited and there are often little league games and dog training classes going on. The classes and the range are always free but they do rely on donations to keep up and running so bring a few dollars if you can.
Orientation: 11am – 1pm(ish)
Hours: Saturday 9:30am – 12pm
Sunday 12pm – 2pm
Wednesday 7pm – 9pm
We took the orientation class last week and loved it so much we’re going back again this Saturday! 2012 Olympics here we come!
