Open Canvas Night – This party at Harvey’s will give you and your friends a chance to get creative with blank canvases! There will also be snacks, music, and beer to help you get inspired.

Mississippi Picnic - The 33rd annual Mississippi Picnic LA is this Saturday! The picnic will be at Elysian park, so grab some friends, sunscreen, and a blanket and prepare to enjoy some delicious southern dishes, drinks and lots of live music. Check their website for the menu and performance schedule!

Comic & Sci-Fi Convention - I’ll be the first to admit their website it pretty ghetto. But once you get past that, it could be a fun event for comic enthusiasts and collectors who are looking for a cheaper alternative to Comicon. The convention takes place at the Shrine Auditorium from 10am – 5pm.

Free Pizza from Pizza Fusion - Join Pizza Fusion in Santa Monica for their official grand opening celebration. This event will feature samples of their organic pizza, sandwiches, and salads, and also complimentary organic beer & wine! Sounds tasty!

Sunday
Free Wings at Friday’s - Friday’s invites you to join them this Sunday to watch your favorite teams kick off the NFL season. Watch the game at the bar and they’ll treat you to 6 free buffalo wings! Participating Friday’s restaurants are also launching a special NFL game day menu at the bar, which includes six Buffalo Wings for $3.99, Half-Rack Baby Back Ribs for $7.99 and two Jack Championship Sliders for $3.99.

Fiddler on the Roof Screening – The North Hollywood Regional library is holding a free screening of Fiddler on the Roof, starring Topol. The screening starts at 1:15pm and free popcorn will be served!

Opa! LA Greek Festival – I’m a huge fan of Greek food so I couldn’t let this one pass by without sharing. Although there are a number of Greek Festivals out here, this is one of the biggest. The three day festival will be hosted by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. There will be food (for purchase), dancing, food, raffles, live music, and did I mention food? The website has a full schedule of events so you may want to check that out before heading over.
