Last Day: Take Survey! Get Prizes!

Take the LA Decostified reader survey, and we’ll reward you by entering you into a drawing for a number of prizes! The survey is only 8 questions long and we’re hoping it’ll help us better understand our audience and what you guys like to see on this blog. We’re hoping to gather as many responses as possible, so even if the prizes don’t sound 100% appealing to you or you’re awesome and already own them all, please fill it out anyways. Just make sure you enter your email address at the end of the survey if you wish to be entered in the drawing.

We’re giving you a full week to fill out the survey, that’s until next Wednesday, August 19th. Then we’ll enter everyone in a random drawing & winners will be notified on Friday, August 21st. Survey Monkey will only let us collect 100 responses, so that’s almost a 1 in 10 chance for you to win!

This contest is open to everyone, not just Los Angeles residents!

Send us a photo of you looking as “LA” as possible and holding a sign that says “I LOVE LA DECOSTIFIED” !!

What does this mean? Put on some huge sunglasses and skinny jeans, or dress like a bum on the side of the highway…really, it’s whatever you feel represents being LA. We encourage you to get creative!

If you’ve read this blog before, there is a good chance you know how heavily we support Not For Tourists and value their incredibly helpful guidebooks. We reference our copy all the time.

The people at NFT are having a contest to promote their new iPhone apps. Winners get $500 and other fun goodies! Many of you reading this are unemployed, so you have no excuse not to find a friend with a video camera (if you live in LA, you HAVE a friend with a video camera) and come up with a creative entry! If you plan on entering, we highly recommend you read up on NFT and the application here.

Contest details below:

NFT is looking for a sense of humor to match its own warped view of reality. We’re looking for submissions by budding (and not-so-budding) filmmakers for a short (30-60 seconds) marketing video to pimp the release of the NFT iPhone Apps. (Manhattan is first, but don’t worry LA. Yours will be coming very soon!).

Here’s the skinny:

-Deadline: June 15, 2009

-Video must be 30-60 seconds long

-Video must be posted to your YouTube account

-Swearing is okay, but not more than in Reservoir Dogs

-Top 3 videos will be voted on by NFT members

-Full contest rules here.

Winner Receives:

-Check for $500

Congratulations to Cricket from Baldwin Hills, our 100th post giveaway winner! Cricket will be receiving her very own 2009 Not For Tourists Guide to Los Angeles! Cricket’s favorite LA song is Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’, which mentions the valley and Mulholland Dr., among other LA landmarks.

In honor of our 100th post on LA Decostified, we are having a giveaway!! Entering is easy and the prize is pretty sweet, so send in your submissions.

How to enter:
Email us your answer to the following question-

What is your favorite Los Angeles song?

Rules:
The song must reference a city, street, landmark, etc. in Los Angeles to qualify.
Entries must live within 50 miles of LA county to enter (sorry everyone else, national contest soon to come!)
Deadline for entry is Wednesday, May 20th at 11:59pm
All submissions will be entered into a random drawing and winner will be announced Friday, May 22nd.

However, we want to hear what you guys like, don’t like, and would like to see on the site in the future. Do you want more videos? More events? More coupons? A different color font?
